Malepa out of ICU after leg amputation, suspect arrested

His uncle, Atshele Molapi who also coached Bolelang at ECCO, confirmed the former player is now out of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and he is doing well.

“He had a succesful operation (yesterday) and after the operation he was released from the ICU into the general wards. The right leg was a huge problem but after the operation he is fine, I have spoken to him and he is responding very well,” Molapi said.

A  car ploughed into Bolelang on Sunday and he was badly injured on the right leg. The accident happened while Bolelang was out enjoying drinks with friends on his birthday.

The suspect who was driving the car that caused the freak accident has been arrested, Kutlwano police station commander Neo Serumola confirmed.

“We arrested the woman but she is currently out of our custody. She is our main suspect in the matter. We know her very well and she is helping us with our investigations,” said Serumola.

“Our investigations are continuing. The woman smelt of alcohol after she was arrested but we cannot at this stage state if she was drunk or not. We have to carry out further investigations to prove that she was drunk or not.”
