PPADB online platform on course

The platform, which was launched in July 2016 through the second phase of the Integrated Procurement Management System

(IPMS) by PPADB has seen an increase on tenders processed online.

The Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Kenneth Matambo in his speech for consolidated and development estimates for 2018-2019 said the increase in online tender processing has seen 158 tenders processed since its inception.

“The uptake is expected to increase in 2018 with more training and awareness as well as system agility and availability,” he said. 

On the Integration of the Simple Messaging System (SMS) gateway into IPMS as well as the incorporation of payment gateway, Matambo said they have been successfully established in March and July 2017 respectively.

He noted that they were fully functional and that the discontinuation of the issuance of manual certificates begin in April 2017 while verification of contractor registration status is currently done online through the IPMS contractor registration platform.
