The beautiful choreography displayed by a number of various dancers from different local dance and music groups left the audience mesmerised.

The first act started off with Moratiwa’s dancers who were wearing dark consumes and bulbs connected to differently designed wire sculptures showcasing beautiful body movements. The song playing in the background took the evidently intrigued audience into the wilderness.

Batsumi Band dancers later displayed a beautiful performance when they treated the audience to magical traditional dance moves.

The band’s ladies, who were wearing traditional leather attire, fascinated the audience with their beautiful dance moves. Starting their performance, the ladies danced whilst carrying traditional weaved baskets which they used to showcase their dancing skills.

Batsumi band male dancers did not want to be left behind as they got on to the stage fired up. They warmed the cold night with their beautiful dance performances such as setapa, phathise and tsutsube where they showcased the Basarwa community’s hunting and healing skills.

The dancers showcased Setswana culture and wildlife through their splendid performances.

One vocalist, Rapula Mlhanga from Batsumi band beautifully sang one of the popular Setswana songs, Mmamelodi. He was also playing the drums.

Urban Empire Dance crew who are basically a hip hop dance group treated the audience to a beautiful performance where they blended hip hop dance with the Setswana culture. The crew’s beautiful performance won them a large number of fans more especially amongst the ladies.

They were later joined by a traditional dancer who stole their limelight with his beautiful dance moves and energy. The young man later displayed splendid dance moves on a pole with some in the audience covering their eyes fearing that he might fall. Luckily, that did not happen.

A poetess known as Phopho treated the audience with her mind-blowing poems. Her first poem Le bo mang, was basically talking about her roots. Where she was born and the wisdom she gained from her grandparents. She said her grandfather built the walls of Gaborone dam back in the days when her grandmother did her part in the development this country.

Her other poem that got the audience speechless was pot love. It is a poem she dedicates to both single and married women who have never been loved. She also dedicated it to women who have been abused, bruised and lost in the name of love.
