Moalosi Out Of CAF Tie

Moalosi picked up the injury during Rollers’ Mascom Top 8 win over Orapa United on Saturday.

He dislocated his left elbow as he attempted to score a goal in the first half and was rushed to hospital. Bogosi Nfila who went on to score Rollers’ third goal replaced him.

Before his injury, Moalosi was a thorn on Orapa United defence’s side and scored Rollers’ second goal.  Speaking after the match following his injury, Moalosi said the doctors have ruled him out for two weeks.

“I lost balance and dislocated my elbow, but they (doctors) managed to reposition it. I will miss at least two weeks of action,” he said.

Rollers take on Young Africans tomorrow in Tanzania in the first leg of the CAF Champions League tie. Without Moalosi, Rollers will have to rely on the attacking qualities of Lemponye Tshireletso, Segolame Boy and Motsholetsi Sikele.

They will be boosted by the availability of Joel Mogorosi and Mthokozisi Msomi who are currently suspended in local competitions.

Meanwhile Rollers coach, Nikola Kavasovic was happy with how his charges performed against the side that usually gives them sleepless nights.

He said at halftime when they were leading 2-0, he advised his players not to defend top deep but continue to go forward.  In the end, they produced two other goals before Orapa pulled two goals back.

Orapa United coach, Bongani Mafu on the other hand said they made too many blunders, which awarded Rollers the goals. “They were first on the ball and made more runs into space. By the time we tried to come back, it was too late,” he said.
