It was attended by Kgosi Abdul Letlamma of Gakuto Village, Desiree Thobega, community development officer of Kweneng District Council, and delegates of Office of the President under the President’s Housing Appeal, together with the FAB members and Filipino community.

FAB is a non-profit organisation established in 1980 whose aim is to promote the general welfare and interest of the Filipino community residing in Botswana and to promote the link between Philippines and Botswana through social, cultural and sporting activities.

They also strive to offer assistance to members of the society in time of need in whatever way possible.

With this in mind, the association responds to the call of the Presidential Housing Appeal by building a house for the underprivileged family.

By hosting a Masquerade Charity Ball on November 2016, and sourcing pledges and donations from various individuals and companies, FAB was able to raise funds for the new home of Ntshweu orphans at Gakuto Village.

Through the assistance of Social Welfare and Community Development Office at Kweneng District, the orphans were identified as persons in need of a permanent shelter as was granted a plot by the Lentsweletau Sub-Land-Board.
