Staged before a fully packed Francistown Sports Complex, the event proved to be a huge success. Artists took turns to dish out exciting performances. Revellers were also on an elementary mood.

MC Maswe threw salvos at King B as he felt that Francistown artists were treated unfairly by not being afforded a proper introduction before going on stage like their counterparts from the southern part of the country.

The duo ended up engaging in a verbal dress down on the stage.

“It’s nonsensical, why does Loungo not introduce me? I am a Francistown artist and I have seven albums,” was some of the words Maswe uttered during the altercation.

As Loungo tried to explain his position on the matter, Maswe continued. “…you are not special we all go to the toilet.” Apparently Loungo did not introduce Maswe because another individual said that he will execute the mandate to introduce the latter.

Immediately after the row an irate Maswe led his dancers off the stage. The incident earned Maswe a lot of enemies after the show. The festival managing director, DJ Collastraw had to come on to the stage to calm the nerves and he quashed the altercation.

“This is not an acceptable behavior especially if we are trying to revive entertainment in our city. We will not be deterred and we will try to push hard to empower Francistown and Botswana artists at large.”

Before the incident La Timmy and DJ Gyvos produced a set that had the dance floor moving.

Cold as it was, the combo had the crowd showering in the drinks that were splashed on the air.

KAST came on stage after the Maswe incident and he put the revellers back to the fiesta mode. He had everyone singing along to his Sefithile Sjabana.

The barrier fence had to be restored more than twice as the crowd pushed and attempted to come into contact with the star.

Another artist, Savage is trying to establish himself in the hip-hop industry hyped up the crowd with his hit song Ke bonye bothodi. That was before 12-year-old upcoming hip-hop artist Angel ‘Angie’ Sikwane left the crowd awestruck with her track Ka yona.

It seemed rather awkward when traditional dance groups Dinkwe Nkgoga and Bana ba bantogwa clad in their traditional attires took to the stage after some house and hip hop acts. The groups did not disappoint.

The revelers responded in fashion and broke into circles as they mimicked the choreographies displayed by the traditional groups.
