Kebonang, Guma in war of attrition

Kebonang is said to have asked his Cabinet colleagues this weekend if they have the right to respond to Guma in kind and why the BDP appeared to be helpless in dealing with what he describes as wayward behaviour.
“Kebonang reminded his Cabinet colleagues that Guma wasn’t the only one representing Batswana as he likes reminding everyone but all parliamentarians have the same mandate,” a senior Cabinet Minister disclosed.
It appears that some of Kebonang’s colleagues went to tell Guma who was not impressed by Kebonang’s utterances at the Cabinet meeting.
“Guma called him to express his displeasure, but Kebonang told him off that he wasn’t bothered about what he thought. That if he threw dirt at everyone, he must start first with by looking in the mirror,” revealed an insider.
The source said the problem with Guma is that he is basically undermining everyone and claims credit for whatever successful outcome.
He said they wondered why Guma “went out to say he and Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi dissuaded Minister Slumber Tsogwane from resigning as reported in one of the weekend publications.
The story is not really positive because it is meant to undermine Tsogwane’s chances rather than enhance them. The attack on everyone is really about him being eventually elevated to the top”.
His BDP colleagues see Guma applying populist tendencies, to want to appeal to the masses at their expense.
“Unfortunately his party views him as a trouble-maker who thinks he is smarter than everyone. Only Kebonang has had the nerve to call him out. Minister Tshekedi Khama suffered abuse from him, but died silently inside.”
Efforts to reach both Guma and Kebonang were futile at the time of going to print.
