Eyes on athletics as Commonwealth team announced

 

Botswana has a strong athletics team with seasoned campaigners, Amantle Montsho, Karabo Sibanda, Baboloki Thebe, Nijel Amos and Isaac Makwala all ready to board the plane on Saturday for the Gold Coast.

The Commonwealth Games run from April 4 to 15, and Botswana has sent a 28-member team.

The team has been set an eight medal target, and Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) chief executive officer, Tuelo Serufho is confident the side will do well.

Botswana was initially allocated 23 slots, later increased to 28 across five sporting discipline being athletics, swimming, boxing, lawn bowls and weightlifting.
