Pule leaves Immigration for BDP

Pule, who was granted exit last week Thursday is eyeing the primaries for general elections as he has missed out on the Mochudi East by election under Botswana Democratic Party (BDP).
His initial aspirations was to try his luck first at the by election but missed out because the name of interested parties has already been submitted by the time he wanted to do so.
Pule had at first gave his employer a notice of three months but re-negotiated it.
He had notified his employer on February 27 and was supposed to leave in May. But the two parties agreed after Pule wrote the next letter to be granted early exit leave. Pule was on contract on pension with his employer and entered into it on June 1, 2015 to June 2020.
“It is true I had renegotiated my retirement to early exit because I was very tired. The job was also stressful. My aim is to be political active in Mochudi East. I believe I could win the constituency for BDP in that area. I do not think politics is stressful like the job I was doing. I had worked for government for a long time and now is time for me to pursue something I believe much in,” Pule said.
Pule confirmed that he would be contesting for BDP primaries in that area. He said he would submit his name when expression of interest is open to BDP members.
He dismissed talk that he was sacked or had problems with his employer.
“My employer understood my story. I had served Immigration very well and it was time for me to leave so that others could take over,” he said.
Among other things, Pule is credited with introducing client-focused strategy that involved communication skills, service provision, work ethics, and performance management.
He also introduced Immigration Act that increased Visa types from three to 10. At first, Visa types were ordinary, continuous visa; transit while he expanded them to tourist and investment.
