The 26-membered youthful ensemble is spearheaded by former My Star 2013 top seven finalist Vusi Botshelo. The ensemble has been in existence for a year as it has continuously staged performances at different venues. “The recording itself was a risk, rather let me say it was faith that made it possible.

We were inexperienced, but we had to learn by working with other artists from South Africa such as Omega Khunou from Spirit of Praise who mentored us and Bheka Mthethwa who connected us with studios in South Africa,” Botshelo said.

Describing the 33-track double CD, Botshelo stated that it is arranged in a choir style as it comprises hymns, praise and worship songs. The album was produced by Job Tlhako from JOB studios in Randburg, SA.

WMP featured unknown and upcoming artists such as Lyon Nkokonyane, Tshegofatso Kwadiba and Ricardo Baori on the album’s different tracks. The album is set to be launched at Boipuso Hall on the release date where the WMP will stage a performance. They will perform tracks from the album.

“We shall be taking Batswana through some energetic mood, as we will be singing songs that are in the album, more of dances and the album will be available immediately after the show.

We will have more Church tours, the album will be sold in South Africa. We never had the finances to host such an event, but through hard work, support from Batswana buying our tickets and pledges, helped us get this far”.

With the ensemble being fresh in the music industry Botshelo believes that his troops are ready to conquer as they have been having consistent rehearsals, mentorship from religious leaders and other experts both in Botswana and South Africa.

Despite not having an album out yet, last year WMP shot a live performance DVD at the Stanbic Bank Piazza.  They are set to perform in South Africa at Roodeport at a date yet to be announced after the album is released.
