Suspects in the Rollers' robbery case have been granted bail

The quartet of Molefe Mogatusi, Jeffery Molefe, Sihlule Mazilawa and George Arabang is said to have robbed Rollers’ Minkie Molatlhegi P200,000, being gate takings from Rollers' game against Mochudi Centre Chiefs, a Samsung S7 phone worth P15,000 and a Mercedes Benz car valued at P100,000 at the Rollers offices located at the CA Sales compound on April 15.

The four were arrested on different occasions and the ticket booklets of the game involving Rollers and Chiefs were discovered whilst the Police are yet to recover the stolen money.

They have each since been charged on a single count of armed robbery. “The accused would be released on bail, on conditions that they pay an amount of P2,500 each. They should provide two sureties who would also bind themselves with the same amount.

The accused should attend all court appearances, they should not interfere with the witness and should not fall to reasonable suspicion of committing any criminal offence while on bail,” Ncube told the court.

The court had earlier denied the accused bail on reason that Molefe and Mogatusi had cases before separate courts. However, the court took in to consideration the pace the investigations are being conducted hence why granted the accused bail.

Meanwhile,  the fifth suspect in the case is still on the run. Investigation Officer, Elias Segokgo told the court last week that they have received information that the suspect has fled to South Africa.

The suspect is believed to be in possession of the stolen amount and material that can be used as evidence in the case.  The quartet will appear in court on June 5 for a mention.
