Lushly Beautiful liquid lipstick changes cosmetic game

Lushly Beautiful matte liquid lipstick producer, Sethunya Monyatsi said her product started as a dream seven years ago. However, at the time she became reluctant to turn her dream into reality because whomever she shared it with discouraged her.

“For five years, I forgot about my dream till back in 2015 when my life fell apart.  That is when the dream became stronger.

I started doing research on the whole process of making cosmetics. I wanted to know about the cosmetic industry and how different products are made. That is when I engaged a cosmetologist from Germany,” she said.

She said since her products are made in Germany which was cheaper, she has been working hand-in-hand with her producer to ensure that they create the best quality products. On May 2017, Monyatsi brought her brand for the first time into the country for testing. She got positive feedback from her potential clients.

Later, in December the same year, she released the product into the local market. The response was overwhelming. She said all Batswana who used her lipsticks loved them and asked for more.

In order to promote her product, Monyatsi also supplied make-up artists with her products and all their clients started placing orders as they were fascinated by it.

“Most matte lipsticks tighten lips. This one moisturises the lips. It locks in the moisture and therefore moisturises lips. The other quality these lipstick have is that they it is waterproof and light.

It is not heavy on the lips,” she emphasised.

Even though she did not have money when she started the business, she persevered to achieve her dream. Monyatsi has called on young people to always fight for their dreams and not to listen to negative comments that their dreams are impossible to achieve.

“There are many people who have dreams like me, but let them die away. I want this project to be an inspiration to women to fight for their dreams,” she said.

Lushly Beautiful lipsticks are sold at Noble Pharmacy in Railpark mall, Superchem at CBD, VNM Beauty Spa at BBS Mall and in Main Mall they could be found at Mpho Donald. They are also available in Francistown and Letlhakane Orapa.

However, Monyatsi said she aspires to see her products sold nationwide and internationally. She noted that she already had requests from South Africa and Zambia and she is currently working on strategies she would use to export her cosmetics to those countries.

“I want to sell my products to the whole of Africa and beyond. I also sell them to women, as I would like to empower them by selling the products to various people to make profit. They are sold at P100 for business people and P120 to individuals,” she said.

The lipsticks are sold in six different colours namely Graceful, Enchanting, Dazzling, Goddess, Glorious and Angelic.  All the colours are exquisite and elegant. They match different outfits and are ideal for various occasions. Some of these colours are bold and enable women to show their beauty and strengths.
