Ngele confirmed his undoubted status as Botswana's finest soccer export.

Tsotso, who is on loan from former champions, Mamelodi Sundowns won his second consecutive league medal when Wits beat Polokwane City 2-0 at the BidVest Stadium. Ngele started the game and lasted the 90minutes. Wits won the league title for the first time since the inception of the club.

Speaking to Mmegi Sport yesterday, the Botswana Football Association (BFA) marketing and communication officer, Tumo Mpatane showered praises on the playmaker whom he said was a true reflection of a properly developed modern day football player. “It is a great feat achieved by him (Ngele).

He is one player who has gone through all the stages of development. Development is something the president (Maclean Letshwiti) is passionate about and we hope that the country can produce more like him in the future,” he said.

The former Uniao Flamingo Santos attacking midfielder was signed by Platinum Stars in 2012 from Township Rollers.

He stayed with Stars for two seasons before signing for Sundowns on a five-year contract. Ngele was shipped to the Students by Sundowns in pursuit of more game time at the start of the season after a disappointing season at the Chloorkop-based side.

The 26-year-old has been instrumental in Wits’ title race, as he has made 17 league appearances, with three coming from the bench. He scored three goals in the process, including a 30-yard goal against Golden Arrows a fortnight ago that can be a contender for the goal of the season.

Ngele won a cup double with Platinum Stars in the 2013/2014. He won the MTN Top 8 and came off the bench to score a brace in the 3-2 win over Orlando Pirates.

He also won a double last year, when Sundowns won the MTN 8 cup and the league title. Ngele has won the Mascom Top 8 with Township Rollers and won a runners medal of the Coca Cola 2010/2011 season with Uniao Flamingo Santos.

Efforts to source a comment from the 26-year-old hit a snag as he said he was still busy yesterday while his coach Gavin Hunt’s number rang unanswered.
