Franco Still Draws Large Crowds

This was evident on Saturday night when he performed at the Prisons officers’ mess in Gaborone. Hundreds flocked the show held in a small hall while many people who had bought tickets had to listen to his songs from outside the hall, as they could not get inside.
While Franco has regularly performed at this venue, it has proven that it is not the ideal place for an artist of his calibre. Franco, who is set to release his 16th album next month, is used to performing to capacity crowds.
The musician said in an interview that he was impressed with the number of people who continue to grace his events. Although he could not state how many tickets were sold for the show, Franco was not surprised with the crowds he pulls to his shows.
“It is all in the work that we put in. I also know that during these times Franco and Afro Musica are likely to attract large crowds wherever they perform,” he said.
“This is simply because we are approaching holidays and just about to release another album. People are anxious to know what Franco has for them,” he added.
Furthermore, he said he has been forced to resort to using halls for his festivals because there is shortage of proper venues.
“Those that are there are normally too expensive. But we want to host our shows at big and open venues so that we manage and control the crowd, however they are unaffordable at times,” he added.
The Ke lela Le Lona hit maker said although the show attracted a large crowd, there were no criminal activities or violence as security was very tight.
He said over the years, his fans have been able to enjoy attending his shows because they are secure.
Supporting Franco and Afro Musica event were Mlesho, The Big Manyora, Tshepo G, DJ Black Stars and DJ Pops. The show started at 8pm and ended at 6am.
