Dakpo is not a stranger in the music circles after previous performances at the Summer of 69 and 79 music ensemble and guest appearances as a supporting act for different musicians.

“This will be my first ever solo performance in my career, I have previously done guest performance slots for other artists on Jazz X change.

We have already started preparing for the show by rehearsing so we come up with fresh and fun vibe performance,” said 33-year-old Dakpo.

Since the songstress has no recorded musical material she will be performing a number of classic soul cover tracks. The Big Pill Band will back her.

“We are revamping a few covers.” Dakpo is working closely with the founder of Jazz X Change Rahman El-Kindy as her music director.  Dakpo is the second act to perform at Jazz X Change since its return last month.

Despite not being a celebrated figure in the music industry she has a rich experience in the musical circles. In 2004 Dakpo came second in My African Dream competition and in 2009 was awarded My African Dream top 15 Young Performers Living the Dream award.

“I came second place during My African Dream competition in 2004; and was awarded My African Dream top 15 Young Performers Living the Dream award in 2009.”

She has also been a music minister leader for 15 years at the Open Baptist Church where she performed at a Global Mission event in Alabama and at The RefresHer Woman’s Conference in the Philippines.
