Date Rape Drugs Are Real

The Internet was busy with many individuals pleading to be sent the tape by those who might have it.

Yes, we are well aware that often times when issues like these crop up, people often defend those who plead to have such tapes, under the guise ‘it’s human nature’. In the process, this kind of sharing assists the indecent tapes to spread like wild fire.

The police have time and again warned women about date rape drugs, as based on cases reported they (women) are the ones who are more at risk of becoming victims.

The woman in the tape, which is currently circulating, has decided to speak up and say that her drink was spiked hence, her participation in the sexual act.

We of course cannot verify whether the drink was spiked or not, but young women and men need to know about the existence of date rape drugs, and that there are unscrupulous individuals who go around hunting for victims to take advantage of.

Date rape drugs are very powerful and dangerous drugs that are often used to assist an offender in committing sexual assault. These drugs can be slipped into one’s drink or food, and they are not easily detectable as they have no colour, smell or taste. Some of the drugs used may cause different reactions including lack of ability to refuse sex or defend oneself successfully.

As humans we often believe that certain things cannot happen to us, and that is how we get to relax and find ourselves in compromising situations. Date rape is often committed by people we know, family friends, friends, acquaintances etc, usually the very people that we think we trust.

The most common rape drugs are Rohypnol commonly known as roofies, Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid (GHB), and Ketamine. Roofies has been modified, as an effort to stop offenders from using it as a date rape drug and it now has a green-gray color, which changes the color of the drink when slipped in.

These drugs are extremely dangerous and some of them if ingested in larger doses can cause death. It is with great concern that the police have found the need to warn women and men against this disgusting growing trend of perpetrators committing sexual offences and rape through forced ingestion of drugs.

The police have noted that while some victims do report ‘date rape’ most do not, because of embarrassment or because they do not remember the events of the previous night/day. Ladies and gentlemen let’s take care of ourselves, and ensure that we keep a very close eye on our drinks.
