DJ Bobzin releases new house single

After featuring DJ KSB in his first single DJ Bobzin, real name Itumeleng Mashomeng, has finally crossed the boarders for a different sound. The 22-year-old DJ and vocalist told Showbiz that DJ TPZ produced the song but they both made the vocals of the song. “I met him in Limpopo and we decided to make a song together,” he said.
He said after leaving Mark Entertainment he decided to work with Bang! Gae and explore his other talents. “I am now working on an album and to make collaborations with more Batswana artists,” he said. DJ Bobzin said his first single was a love song therefore this time he had to change the sound a bit. “Its hype song and its about people selling something that is not there.” He said he is not the only DJ at Bang! Gae. The latter is a record label that is mostly known for producing rappers.
Looking back DJ Bobzin said he started pushing his music passion after completing his Form Five. “Even though I have faced obstacles on the way, I know what I want, I have managed to get a lot of music gigs in SA,” he said.
Umcimbunjani is a party song and the sound clearly shows that DJ Bobzin has worked with an artist from South Africa. These days most people can relate to South African house music and Umcimbunjani is one of those songs despite being done by a talented local DJ. It is a happy song that encourages a person to dance their hearts out no matter the situation.
Although it does not have soulful voices it can also encourage listeners to forget their sorrows for a while and enjoy the drumbeats. It may not be in our native tongue but it is surely a first step towards establishing Botswana’s very own unique house sound.
