Gaosikelwe was suspended last September and her matter continues to drag on.

With a few weeks before the April 28, 2018 elections, her future remains unclear. She told Mmegi Sport yesterday that she has not received communication that charges have been dropped.

“They won and their strategy worked.  It was a way of blocking me. Where is proof that charges have been dropped against me? They suspended me in writing and they should follow the same procedure when dropping charges,” Gaosikelwe lashed out.

BSA legal advisor, Neo Kgothi said Gaosikelwe is free to contest despite facing disciplinary proceedings. Kgothi said delays in concluding the case have been due to the unavailability of concerned parties.

“We wanted the matter to proceed yesterday (Wednesday), but we could not sit as Gaosikelwe was not present,” he said.

Kgothi said it is not the intention of the Disciplinary Committee  to drag the matter. For her part, Gaosikelwe said it was impossible to contest while still on suspension. She said it was not possible for her to attend the meeting due to work commitments. She added that the meeting was set at the last minute. Nominations for elections close on April 4.
