Celtic have been tracking the Zebras number one for sometime and she spent this past week training with the side and she is now back home awaiting a permit.

“I did not have to undergo a trial because they (Celtic) have seen me play before and they wanted me to join them. I haven’t signed any contract yet as am waiting to for the permit,” Boseja told Mmegi Sport.

he further said a move to a big team like Celtic is a great step in her career towards securing a dream move to the biggest leagues in the world.

“Celtic is a big team; I feel honoured to be part of the team. Looking at the fact that it is a chance to be seen by teams overseas, mostly I will be improving my skills because of the experience that I will be gaining there.

“They have three international players. I know most players there as I have played against them at international level with the national team, therefore it was easy to settle and get along with them,” she said.

Boseja has represented the national team at all levels. She has been the Zebras number one since 2015 when she was just 17. The 19-year-old has been capped 12 times with the senior side, 18 with the Under-17 and six times with Under-20.

She has won the league twice, in succession with Township Rollers before switching to Double Action in January. She kept a record of 18 clean sheets when Rollers won the league title undefeated in the 2014/2015 season.

Celtic is playing in the semi-professional Sasol Premier League and has won the Free State provincial title four times in a row. The Siwelele women were crowned national champions for the first time last year after downing Gauteng’s star studded JVW FC 1-0.
