Fellow citizens allow me to use this platform to express my protuberant pleasure, as I am still struggling to hold back my excitement about the recent gigantic victory in Tlokweng Parliamentary by-election.

As the mighty Umbrella for Democratic Change (UDC) retained the Tlokweng constituency, it is a clear indication that our people are thirsty for change and they know very well that they are the main patrons who should ensure that this change sees the light of the day.

Bravo to you Tlokweng residents and all those who made it possible for the great UDC to retain Tlokweng constituency. The ruling elites have reached the end of their tyranny on our people. They cannot deceive us anymore as we are rational enough to recognise their hell-bent ways of ruling.

Your votes have spoken against the declining education, the passing of draconian bills, the reckless spending of our capital, lack of accountability and astonishing arrogance as well as alarming unemployment rate. Fellow countryman this victory means a lot, but let’s not get tempted to rest on our laurels. Let’s continue to spread the message of liberation to other parts of the country.

It is evident that there are still those who are voting for the BDP in large numbers. These people need to be baptised and taught the authentic principles of democracy. They need to be rescued from the confusion that is clouding their judgement. Let’s be patient when dealing with them so that they understand clearly what democracy stands for.

Hence in 2019 we will be able to defeat our opponent with enormous numbers. Comrades let’s utilise each and every second that passes by ensuring that members are recruited to the mighty UDC, recruitment must take place in our work places, recreational beer halls and other social events.

We should not rest until Advocate Duma Boko is sworn in as the fifth president of Botswana. Let’s stay focused and give our people all the reasons for voting UDC into power and they will accede to our plea.

The combat needs to be prepared for 2019 and we shall emerge victorious and liberate our nation from menacing capitalists who are milking us dry. Finally, let me take this opportunity to wish the Tlokweng Member of Parliament Masego Segokgo a productive stay in the office.
