Makofi asked prosecution the possible sentence of the accused persons and the duration that they could take to conclude their investigations to prosecute the accused persons.

“You are also planning to further remand the accused persons in custody until trial and investigations are still ongoing. Why don’t you just deport them and save state resources. What is their possible sentence, it might be a fine hence could deal with it and deport them,” Makofi said.

The suspects, Plamen Nikolaev Pandor 44, Liliya Nikolaeva Borisova 26 and Dimitar Borislavov Angelou 36 were late last month arrested for high profile electronic card information theft linked to ‘ATM and bank account scam’.

The trio was suspected to be behind the recent spate of FNB ATM money scams where money was wiped out of customers’ bank accounts.
