According to the ODE head of new projects, Justin Jose this project, which is their second franchise lodge in the country, has been in the pipeline since last year.

“When we select a location to develop a lodge, we thoroughly assess the market and select a place where we find a gap in our target market, which is business travellers,” he said.

Kasane Travel Lodge has 66 luxury rooms with guest bathroom facilities.

The lodge has 14 twin-bedded rooms, 40 double-bedded rooms, 10 family rooms and two executive rooms that have self-catering facilities.

Jose said their activity centre offers transfers to all major hubs including Kasane Airport, Livingstone Victoria falls in Zambia and Katima Mulilo.

“To enhance your stay at Travel Lodge, we offer an activity centre where you can book a variety of activities on offer in the regions as well as transfers to all regional airports and towns,” he said.

The lodge also has conference facilities that can host between 100 and 200 people.

Jose further said the group is also working on constructing another 32-roomed lodge in Ghanzi under the Travel Lodge brand.

“We would soon commence the development of Ghanzi Travel Lodge as finally we have managed to get an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) nod and waiting for the final confirmation from the council,” he said.

He added that the lodge is intended to serve the same market as the Gaborone and Kasane lodges adding that the next town in their plans is Palapye.

ODE, the owners of the I-towers in Gaborone, also recently opened hotel Room52 at the country’s tallest building.
