The nimble-footed attacker twisted and turned the opposition defence with a solo effort and beat hapless Anthony Gouws to the far post.

The 22-year-old has been one of the team’s outstanding players; he has tucked in nine goals in the league campaign.

With the end of the season fast approaching and the transfer window less than two months away, Forest’s coach, Rapelang ‘Razor’ Tsatsilebe said he is aware that the attacking midfielder’s impressive form could spark interest from the bigger teams.

“We are crossing our fingers that he does not leave.  He is our best player right now; even in the country he is one of the best. I am crossing fingers that he does not become bigheaded.

He is still young and has to learn a lot of things,” Razor said after the weekend game.  The former Gaborone United (GU) tactician further said a move abroad would be more suitable for the youngster. “We would like to sell him to a team where we would be watched by international scouts, where he will have more game time,” he said.

Kgamanyane signed for Forest on free transfer from Green Lovers where he was used more as an impact player. ‘Messi’ as he is called, has been instrumental in the team’s top eight spot chase, making him one of the contenders for Player of the Season award.

Tsatsilebe also said he remains confident that his team would secure a top eight finish in their maiden season in the Premiership.  “I do not mind any position. I have done my statistics and all the teams in the top eight would have to play against each, thus meaning they will drop points.  So I am in the top eight,” he said.

Magoleng are sitting seventh with 37 points.

They will play GU, Township Rollers and Gilport Lions in their remaining three games.  Meanwhile, Itumeleng Duicker continued his unbeaten run as Extension Gunners with a 2-0 win over Mochudi Centre Chiefs while Sankoyo Bush Bucks put more misery on Lovers as they emerged 3-0 winners at the Maun Sports Complex.

GU have increased their chance of a top eight finish thanks to Akulubelwa Mwachiaba’s last minute strike against Police XI.

Orapa United and Lions recorded 2-1 victories over Miscellaneous and BDF XI respectively.  United Hotspurs have been relegated to the first division after they were hammered 5-3 by Security Systems on Sunday afternoon.
