Alleged hitman faces second charge

Nkhuha jointly charged for Meswele’s murder with the deceased’s former brother in law, Ernest Legwale and Dzichanaka Davie appeared before Broadhurst Chief Magistrate Faith Ngandu.

State prosecutor Oamogetswe Gaboutwelwe told court that Nkhuha unlawfully remained in Botswana from January 24, 2017 to February 19, 2018, the day he was arrested at Mmopane village.

Gaboutwele said Nkhuha, committed to stand trial for the offence of murder, should further be remanded in custody because on his arrest he failed to produce a passport hence not a rightful candidate to be granted bail.

On his arrest Nkhuha voluntarily gave a confession statement telling court that together with Davie they were hired by Legwale to kill his then wife Dimpho Meswele but they accidentally killed her sister, Thato.

Later on, Nkhuha shocked the court saying he was lying and that information should not be used as part of evidence.
