Mascom CEO congratulates Rollers

Tonight we gather to celebrate a tournament that has since taken Botswana by storm and become a house hold name.

Since its inception, the “MASCOM TOP 8” continues to make strides in the game of football in Botswana. Teams continue to prosper and become even bigger house hold names. Fans continue to energise their teams with their support making the games more interesting. Mascom remains committed to redefining the image and perception of Botswana football.

We keep saying that Mascom Top 8 is where dreams are made and over and over again the Mascom Top 8 has indeed proven this to be true.

When the Mascom Top 8 was launched in 2012, Township Rollers was the first team to take home the title and 1Metre. Tonight we are here to congratulate them again six seasons later as they are the winners of The Mascom Top 8 Season 7.

Ladies and gentleman let me take this opportunity to congratulate Township Rollers for being the first football club from Botswana to qualify for the group stages of the African Champions League, Popa will play against the best in the continent in a few weeks time. We wish to extend the very best of luck to the Mascom Top 8 Season 7 Champions.

This is living testimony that anything is possible with hard work, determination, team work and great support. Go and represent the country well!

Tonight we are honoured to have the Minister of Youth Empowerment Sport and Culture Development, Hon Thapelo Olopeng as our guest of honour. We are most grateful for the immerse support you have given us over the years and contribution you are making to Batswana especially the youth. Thank you for honouring our invitation.

It is important that I once again remind us all of the teams prices for the Mascom Top 8.

l The loser preliminary stage get 170 thousand pula each

l The loser’s semi-finalists get 300 thousand pula each

l The Runner Up get 550 thousand pula

l And of course the winner walks away with 1.3 Meter”.

Ladies and gentleman, I must say we have a great support system that has influenced the success of Mascom Top 8.
