Under the theme, ‘Turning your passion into a sustainable business’, the premier business and leisure hotel launched the MSH Fashion Show & Mentorship Workshop Series on May 4, 2017.  The series will see leading local entrepreneurs, innovators and creatives share insights on their success stories as part of MSH’s larger effort to drive intra-industry stakeholder relationships while encouraging local youth entrepreneurship and innovation.

Kicking off the series were guest speakers, Masego Marobela, managing director of Botswana Bureau of Standards (BOBs), Gaorekwe Gaorekwe, director of international portfolio, Brand Botswana, Renowned local broadcasting personality and owner of Keno Custom Suits Boutique, Thobo Kerekang and Dudu Tshosa, renowned professional makeup artist for global makeup artistry label, Bobbi Brown. Oratile Kefitlhile, who is the face of the Masa Fashion Show, led the morning’s proceedings.

“As a leading business-first hotel in Botswana, we have also invested in the development of the community we reside in.

We are thrilled to provide a platform for local youth to interact with innovative founders, industry captains and thought leaders.  This workshop series is an opportunity for our programme mentees - who are local entrepreneurs themselves - to meet successful business practitioners from a variety of industries.

The mentees will be able to learn from speaker experiences and garner business insights that they can then apply in their profession.

This series is also an opportunity for our mentees and our stakeholders to make connections and establish relevant partnerships that might be helpful in the business development,” said Masa Square Hotel general manager, Greg Soutter. During the course of 2017, the MSH Fashion Show & Mentorship Workshop Series will feature leaders from various industries including finance, media, manufacturing and more.

These aim to provide MSH Fashion Mentorship Programme mentees with a dynamic perspective on business management through insights from a variety of speakers who are directly and indirectly stakeholders of the creative industry.

More workshops are slated for the coming months and will culminate in the Masa Fashion Show on October 21, 2017.

“Relationships are critical to the success of any business, such as with one’s team, suppliers, creditors, employees and customers.

The MSH Fashion Show & Mentorship Workshop series expands on what we seek to do with the fashion mentorship program - to develop local entrepreneurship capacity by bridging the gap between those with experience and those seeking it.

It is our hope that through such an engaging platform, we can encourage local entrepreneurship and expose talented Botswana entrepreneurs, producers and visionaries,” Soutter concluded.
