The event had an endless line up of 52 local acts from different music genres, who staged performances till sunrise. Revellers started packing up the stadium during the day till night time.

The brains behind the event Kast confirmed that over 20,000 people attended Tlatsa Lebala.

Different acts such as MMP Family, Franco, Vee, Scar, Prez Beats, Dr Vom, Veezo, Mosako, Anafiki, DJ Izzy, DJ Sly, Apolo D, Kundalini, Machesa, WMP and Kast gave it their all on stage as they also took revellers down the memory lane with their old school hits and new content.

The crowds enjoyed every moment during the show as they sang along to the different songs and danced throughout the night. Even musicians who were not on the line-up came to show support as they expressed excitement.

The atmosphere was overwhelming due to the fact that an all local line-up event filled up the national stadium. All sections from the VIP to the general section were packed.

A moment of silence was observed for the late Steez, as his music was played on a set with people cheering his name.

The moment of truth came around 12 midnight when the man behind the event Kast came on stage to perform. The audience went ecstatic as he gave an energetic performance with support of dancers and a band.

He performed his different hits such as Ontse O Le Kae, Ndono, No Chill, Sejabana and Re Ba Bedi. Revellers went crazy with some throwing money on stage, some pulling him and one almost pulled away his wedding ring.

“This is what I walked for, Thank you batlatsi for making this dream come true,” said Kast as he interacted with the revellers. He also performed a gospel song titled You Are Amazing, a tribute to the late Steez. He left the stage when the revelers were still yearning for more, as he had to continue with coordinating the event.

When Vee Mampezy came on stage revelers went super ecstatic as they broke down the crowd control barricade which separated the stage and general section with the security failing to control the crowd.

Vee performed hits such as I Do, Taku Taku, Eita and Happy. During his performance, he surprised revellers as he called out Khuli Chana to perform their latest single Hape Hape. The South African rapper also performed his song Mnatebawen.

Khuli Chana’s presence on stage did not settle well with a number of local musicians since this was a strictly local line up event.

A number of DJs also disappointed as they played international music on an event meant to promote local artists.

Tlatsa Lebala is the first all local line up event to fill up such a capacity. In the 90s, Eric Ramco organised an all local line up event at Fairgrounds, which attracted a sizeable number of revellers.
