All the four goals were scored in the first half while both teams were rather cautions in the second half. Thero Setsile opened the scoring for Galaxy as early as the third minute.

The attacker turned and beat Michael James to the top corner with a finesse shot. Setsile got his brace two minutes later as he rose high to head home Peter Olangi’s teasing cross with his 14th of the league campaign. Forest missed two chances to level the scores in a space of three minutes.

Mogomotsi Kerebotswe’s low drive was saved by the keeper in the eighth minute while Koketso Majafi shot wide two minutes later.

Forest pulled one back in the 22nd minute, Wellington Maposa lunged in a cross and beat Anthony Gouws to the left corner. The host drew level three minutes later, Thatayaone Kgamanyane teared the opposition’s defence apart and beating Gouws to be bottom corner.

With five minutes to the break, Kgamanyane was denied a brace, as Gouws finger tipped his free-kick over the bar. The teams went to recess locked at two all.

Both teams resorted to short passes in the first 10 minutes of the second half with the goalkeepers untested. On the hour mark, Gouws once again denied Kgamanyane as he fisted the attacker’s free-kick over the bar.

Five minutes later, Isaac Paeye headed wide Olangi’s cross. Forest’s Tonderai Nyakuba unleashed metres away from the penalty box but went wide in referee’s time.  Galaxy’s coach, Mike Sithole said his players’ lack of experience and attitude led to the result.

“Tactically we lost it today. The players did not come to the party. We should have won it in the first half. My defence was poor. You cannot give away two goals like that,” he said. His counterpart Forest’s Rapelang Tsatsilebe lauded his players for the thrilling comeback.

“To come back from two goals down against a team like Galaxy is something to write home about. We had our chances and I think we should have won it,” he said. The draw sees Galaxy stretch their lead to four points but second placed Township Rollers has two games in hand.
