Barolong chief trial set for July

 

Kgosi Mompati Marumoloa, 67, is alleged to have on February 12, 2017 hurled insults at his subordinates over allegations of backstabbing. 

According to the charge sheet, Marumoloa is alleged to have uttered the following “Ke gore di tribal administrator tsa kgotla e ba rata go seba ka leina lame”.

“Fa marago a bone a baba ba seba ka leina lame, mme nna ga nke ke tsena mo maragong a bone, ke tlaa betsa batho gore ke ba busetse ko ba tswang teng (Tribal administrators of this court like to talk about me behind my back.

When their buttocks itch, they talk about me, but I never enter their buttocks and I will beat them up and send them back whence they came)”.

Marumoloa pleaded not guilty to the charges, since then he has been abiding by the bail conditions set. Though trial has been set, mention to confirm the dates has also been set for June 9.

Busang Manewe represents the accused person while Lapologang Mbwe of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions represents the state.
