Trial date set for Ntsuape

The accused Gobuamang Ntsuape will finally go for trial in relation to four counts of attempted murder, one count of murder and one count of arson.

Ntsuape allegedly committed the offences on September 13 in 2016 at Block 9 location here after his girlfriend and mother of his child Dorcas Kgosietsiele told him that they should end their love relationship.

Ntsuape is also charged with two counts of manslaughter and one count of disabling in order to commit an offence that he allegedly committed on December 1, 2016.

After appearing before Justice Lot Moroka for an application for bail pending trial today, Ntsuape was told just to remain in the dock so that trial dates for all his legal skirmishes could be set.

Before the trial dates were set, state prosecutor Carlos Diwundu informed the court that he was not able to serve his learned counterpart, Mogaetsho Keoagile, who is representing Ntsuape, with any documents.

Diwundu said they failed to file documents before the court so that Keoagile could also formally receive them because their photocopying machine was not working.

“We humbly submit to be given another date of mention to serve the defence so that my learned colleague could also properly advise his client after perusing the documents,” he said.

Keoagile did not oppose what Diwundu said.

After the brief mention, Moroka set the date for initial case management conference (ICMC) for May 23, 2018.

Moroka subsequently set trial dates for the matters for September 3 to 7, 2018.
