Fake Zim traditional doctor in the dock again

Chihwayi, who pretended to be a traditional doctor, and two other Zimbabwean men faced a similar offence last year and were charged a fine of P5,000 each and three years wholly suspected.  

Barely a few months later, Chihwayi is back in court facing a similar offence against one, Evans Nhiwatiwa, 47. The duo appeared before Broadhurst Chief Magistrate, Faith Ngandu. 

Chihwayi is facing another offence of obtaining by false pretence with the particulars stating that on the exact date not known to the prosecution between 2012 and 2013 at Gabane village, he obtained the sum of P10,000 from Kamogelo Setlalekgosi. 

Court revealed that he pretended that he was a traditional doctor, duly registered in Botswana and that he can assist to remove evil spirits from her whilst he knew that the representation to be false. 

On the second count the duo is alleged that on April 15, 2018 at Gabane village acting together and in concert being persons not authorised or licenced, had in their possession ostrich shells, python skin and government trophy. 

Last year the court charged Chihwayi and two others for pretending to be traditional doctors and that they have removed a thokolosi from Linet Mmali David’s house which came in the form of a dead baboon.  The two were remanded in custody and will be back for mention on May 3, 2018.
