The defending champions, still mourning the death of their speedy winger, Gofaone Tiro missed last weekend’s action because of the devastating news of their player’s passing on.

Tiro reportedly collapsed during his side’s training session in preparation for their game against Green Lovers and was certified dead upon arrival at the hospital. Rollers then requested the cancellation of their match against Green Lovers, a wish that was granted by the Botswana Premier League (BPL).

Rollers players were said to be still in a state of shock following the untimely passing on of their teammate hence the request for the cancellation of the match.

The players and the officials however attended some counselling sessions last week in an attempt to help them deal with their loss.

Tomorrow they take on Matebele in a game that is expected to draw emotions.

The club has declared that they dedicate the match to the fallen promising star.

Through their Facebook page, Rollers have announced that they will pay 25% of net gate takings to the parents of Tiro. Tiro will be laid to rest this Saturday at his home village of Gulubane in the North East District.

The club has been holding evening prayers in Gaborone this past week.

His memorial service is scheduled for this Thursday. BDF XI have reportedly sent messages of condolences to both Rollers and the player’s family.

Both sides are desperate for maximum points with Rollers chasing the league title while BDF XI look to secure their top eight finish. Rollers are currently sitting at position two with 52 points. BDF XI on the other hand are in position six with 35 points.

In other games to be played tonight, Orapa United will be at home to Black Forest while Jwaneng Galaxy host Police XI in Jwaneng.

Police XI who have been blowing hot and cold have reportedly parted ways with coach, Junior Lotlaamoreng and lined up former coach, Sthanda Mogwadi as his replacement.

Gaborone United take on Nico united while Green Lovers and Gilport Lions meet in a relegation battle.
