The party has agreed to cooperate with other opposition parties and we have to accept that.” He noted that, “some members of the youth league were part of negotiation teams.

If there is any mistake that has happened during the talks, then we are all to be blamed, both motherbody and the youth league”.  Rakgari said members have a tendency of insulting party leadership, especially when they debate issues about cooperation.

He said the BCP has realised that it cannot win elections alone and therefore needs other opposition parties.

“Let’s put aside our differences and focus on campaigning for UDC. We need to recruit members for UDC and focus on it. Our president, Dumelang Saleshando is the vice president of UDC,” he said.

“I urge the BCP members to respect parties which are managing some of the constituencies that are allocated to them. We have been given 17 constituencies.

I will respect the Botswana Movement for Democracy (BMD) at Mogoditshane and I will cooperate with MP Sedirwa Kgoroba.  So members do the same at other constituencies,” he said.

The youth president urged the UDC members to stop unnecessary attacks on each other on social media. He said some disputes among the youth reflect badly on their leaders.

The UDC president, Duma Boko said the members should debate issues in a respectable manner and engage the leaders when they believe that things are not done the right way.

“I want to urge UDC members to give BMD time to resolve their differences without interferences. In politics, when a party is a break away of another, it is found to go through certain things.

The Botswana National Front (BNF) and BCP have gone through what BMD is going through.  Allow comrades to resolve their issues,” Boko said.
