Mpiwa dragged the BFA before the court challenging his suspension. He was suspended last December following a forensic audit that reportedly unearthed gross maladministration and financial irregularities. Mpiwa was then called for a disciplinary hearing, which the court says was unlawful based on the attitude of the chairman of the disciplinary committee.

BFA public relations officer, Tumo Mpatane said they are yet to decide on disciplinary action against Mpiwa as they await advice from their legal representatives.

“The hearing is an internal matter within the BFA. At this stage, we cannot disclose any information about the process. We will abide and respect the court orders, as of now we are waiting for advice from our legal team and we will take a decision based on their advice,” Mpatane said on Friday.

The BFA has been in and out of court as they battle it out with their current and former employees. They are still in a legal battle with former BPL chief executive officer, Bennett Mamelodi, who is also challenging his dismissal.

The troubled association faces yet another battle as former chief executive officer Kitso Kemoeng’s legal team filed for unfair dismissal. Kemoeng was appointed last year replacing Keith Masters.

He was dismissed in December after serving suspension. Ookeditse Malesu took over his post early this month.
