Fashion show brings epilepsy awareness

The fashion show dubbed ‘The final runway fashion show’ is scheduled to take place on April 29 at Sky Lounge. It will feature more than 10 clothing brands by local fashion designers.

“As a way of raising awareness towards epilepsy we have decided to incorporate it with the fashion show. I got inspired to do this after learning that a family friend is epileptic and I told the mother to my friend that I will try to raise awareness through the fashion show,” said Brian ‘King’ Dintwe the Empire director.

Fashion shows have been previously used to bring awareness to different conditions and other issues. Locally a number of shows have been hosted to support albinism.

The fashion show will feature collections from different clothing brands such as Agora, Gilded SANDS, IDL Fashions, Tlale Haus, Purple Ivory, Dunell Doro, Funky Resey, Bello Designs, Mollz and Kellz and LaMos.

King noted that 30 new models from his agency would be on the ramp showcasing the different winter and spring collections by the designers.

“We will be having 30 new models that we recently signed to the agency. They have been going through boot camps and this is the time to put them to task through the fashion show.”

The Empire-modelling agency has been grooming and hosting fashion shows for more than three years. The Empire BW has worked with actor-cum model Aziz Hayman and former Miss Africa Botswana Peelo Mookodi.
