Summer Never Ends Festival brings life to Letlhakane

The event dubbed Summer Never Ends is expected to bring life to the dull village. In an interview with Showbiz, Eco Express Event director, Kutlwano Tlotleng said realising that Letlhakane and the whole of Boteti area lacked entertainment or festivals that would keep the residents more especially the youth amused, they decided to make a memorable event that would bring life to their dull village. He said even though most of the bigger festivals were hosted in Orapa, many residents could not partake in them because the place accommodated a certain number of revelers.

“There are also restrictions at Orapa so many people feel left out. This event is one of our projects that are intended to give a larger audience in Boteti a chance to enjoy themselves. We chose to host this event at Letlhakane stadium so that we can accommodate as many people as possible,” he said. Tlotleng pointed out that even though the stadium did not have electricity, there was no need for the audience to panic, as they would light up the stadium throughout the night using generators to power the lamps.

He also promised that the security would be watertight, as they have engaged some of the biggest security companies in Letlhakane, being Dikwankwetla Bouncers and Security and Security Systems.

“This event is set to bid summer farewell. As we know, summer is one of the favourite seasons amongst people more especially the night crawlers because it gives them a chance to freely express themselves through clothing. It is the time when people can freely express themselves through fashion. We have also realised that many events even weddings and parties are held in summer,” he said.

He promised that the event would be held annually. Tlotleng said his company intends to promote the arts industry in his home village, as they have a number of projects that they are working on.  Some of the entertainment giants who are expected to treat the audience with endless amusement include Vee Mampeezy, MMP Family, Gouveia, Dj Guyvos, Chef Gustos Bishop, Dj Shakido, Major 1 BW, Dj Bino, Dj King of Go Siame and Rittar. The event’s Masters of Ceremony (MCs) will be Miss Geekays and Jennifer Thebe.

Parking will be free and limited until 6pm, with revelers who want to park inside the venue are encouraged to do so before 6pm. Cooler boxes will also be allowed free entry before 6pm. Bottles would not be allowed into the venue.

Gates would be open at 10am till late. Tickets are sold at P100 each and are available at Express Mart (Engen Letlhakane), Summer Never Ends stall by Spar and Express Mart in Orapa.
