Palapye after marathon festival to relax revelers

 

In an interview, one of the organisers Moagi Rahube said the festival is intended to relax and entertain revellers following a tiresome day of the Palapye half marathon.

“This will be to shower our Palapye half marathon supporters after a long day of competing in the race that will be also held on April 30 in the morning.

We also intend to bring people together to appreciate the talent we have in the country both in sports and music industries,” he said.

He revealed that the lineup will be 100% local to promote local and give exposure to upcoming artists particulary those in villages who still lack recognition due to limited resources.

He further stated that the lineup consist of all music genres from gospel, kwaito, house kwasa and hip-hop.

“We want people to come together and appreciate what Botswana has to offer in terms of music moreover it will give the upcoming artists an exposure to socialise with some of the giants in the music industry,” Rahube said.

The lineup will include award winning DJ Guyvos, DJ Bino, gospel giants Mmereki Marakakgoro and Tshepo Lesole, multi international award winning hip-hop artist Scar, the Sensational Charma Gal and Mlesho amongst others.

The talented Flavour Dome presenter, Sadie will be the MC of the day along side Timothy Alpha. Rahube assured revellers of the best ever night of their lives and value for their money.

He said the event would be sponsored by the Central Sports Centre the organisers of Palapye half marathon.

The tickets are sold at P80 single, double ticket at P120 and lastly VIP at P300.

“We appeal to music enthusiasts to come in large numbers and support local music at the same time being entertained.

We also hope to make the festival an annual festivity and help put our growing village Palapye on the map,” he added.
