Gunners suspend players, part ways with All Kasi

The condition of the deal was that it could be terminated if the Peleng side found a sponsor. But the deal has been cut short due to differences between All Kasi and Gunners management. “They (All Kasi) are withdrawing from the contract. They feel the committee is largely interfering with the running of the club. The committee gave the company the powers to run the team while they played a supervisory role, but of late, All Kasi feels they cannot perform their day-to-day duties as the committee keeps interfering,” a source told Mmegi Sport this week.
The Peleng side has been battling financial constraints for the past seasons despite being one of the best-supported clubs.
The team has failed to pay their staff outstanding salaries prompting the players to boycott.
Gunners earlier this week slapped six players with suspensions for misconduct pending investigation following their weeklong training boycott.
“We are dealing with the issue internally. There will be a disciplinary hearing once the investigations are done,” Gunners’ public relations officer, Edwin Mabapa said. The six players include veteran striker, Kenanao Kgetholetsile, Thabo Metlhayotlhe, Bonno Mosea, Wadzha Seleka, Ofentse Mmipi and Katlego Mbise. “I can confirm that there are six players suspended by the team for misconduct.”
Gunners’ off field issues have affected the team’s progress on the field as they currently sit on the 10th spot with 33 points, four behind the top eight position.
Guna-guna are winless in their five games as they only collected a point from a possible 15, suffering four defeats including a shock 3-2 loss to relegated Gilport Lions last weekend.
The Peleng Boys will face Gaborone United on Saturday afternoon at the Lobatse Sports Complex.
