The media is invited to cover the event in Ramotswa at 2:30pm.

The Emmanuel Youth centre is one of the Botswana Christian Intervention Program’s (BOCAIP) centers, which provides HIV testing and counseling, community mobilisation, ongoing counseling, and TB prevention and gender based violence peer education programmes.

The grant funded the purchase of computers, IT equipment, a TV, DVD player, movies and other recreational and sports supplies for the center, which welcomes local youth to participate in worthwhile leisure and educational activities after school.

The youth center will initially target about 250 registered Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) aged 13-19 in Ramotswa and gradually expands support to other youth.

The center will give the OVCs an opportunity to learn about sexual and reproductive health and to enhance their computer and internet skills.

The center’s coordinators will educate the youth about time management and will help with their homework.

In addition, the center will be a safe place for the youth to learn and have fun.
