The singing sensation walked out of last year’s show’s grand finale P200,000 richer and in the winner’s package was also a recording deal.

However, eight months later the recording deal is yet to materialise and Kemodise said she is growing tired of waiting. She said she had written songs and she is ready to go into the studio.

“I have waited for a long time and I have to follow the organisers, the last time I checked I was told there was no money. I was told when the funds are available I will be notified and I am desperately waiting,” she said.

“At the moment I am engaged at my small business but that would not distract me from recording, I want to at least record a single so I can expose my talent.”

The show’s spokesperson Keitumetse Ramaphane said the winners recording deal remains top priority and they are working around the clock to arrange for her recording in South Africa.

“Her album is of fundamental priority to us, it is one of the reasons that is delaying the beginning of the next season. We won’t start until our winner has recorded and we are working on logistics but I can’t reveal much now, otherwise she will be recording in South Africa very soon,” she said.

Ramaphane said the show is set for a return before the end of the year. She said amongst other things they are also waiting for Btv to respond to their request for a slot and they are also in search for other sponsors.

“We are receiving numerous enquiries about when the next season of the show will resume, although we can’t be specific I can assure you that Just Gospel is coming back before the end of the year.

“We are working around the clock for season two, we currently have one sponsor in Fashion Time Clothing and we are looking for others, but once we receive commissioning from Btv we will kick start the auditions.”

In the inaugural season, the lucrative show had attracted over 400 participants. During the campaign the show had also won the Best Gospel TV programme at the Trumpet Africa Gospel Music Awards (TAGMA) in Pretoria, South Africa.
