Lothando Wedding Events Make Strides

For the first time, the 25-year old multi-talented entrepreneur truly enjoys what she is doing as it makes a greater impact on the lives of the newlyweds. Moalosi is the owner and operator of Lothando Wedding Events, which started operating in 2013.

The ambitious businesswoman said Lothando Wedding Events was underperforming after its inception due to many competitors who were engaged in the same business.

She said the business started making profit in 2015 when she started doing things differently by just renting out the wedding gowns at cheaper prices. “This business was basically out of love and helping out those who can’t afford to purchase the gowns.

I remember one day when I was still selling the gowns and an old couple approached me and begged me to rather rent the wedding gowns to them because they had a limited budget,” she said.  Moalosi said she thought hard about their request and just agreed to rent out to them.

She further said it was until then that she realised that everyone wishes to have a beautiful wedding by wearing an exclusive wedding gown, which they cannot afford. “I know that the prices are crazy but like I said it’s all because of love and making someone smile in their special day,”

The go-getter also said she has clients from across the country because of cheap prices and the elegance of the gowns. She further said her customers call her a saint and are always happy with her services. Moalosi said the business is currently doing well and makes her proud.

She said like any other business, she faces some problems, which reduce profitability.

The entrepreneur said her biggest problem is the clients who will take long to return the gowns.

The businesswoman said that she purchases some of her gowns from China and the United Kingdom. Lothando Wedding Events was funded by her mother, Mbatshi Nleya Mbatshi Moalosi who helped her with start-up cash for the business.

“As for the future plans, I wish to see this business grow wings and have many branches across the country because it always pains me to see people travel from as far as Shakawe to see me,” she said. She said Lothando is quiet popular in the country and between mid last year and December, they provided their services to about 60 weddings.
