Wesbank Air Show Promotes Economic Diversification

Wesbank International Air Show is organised by the Matsieng Trust in partnership with Wesbank Botswana, a division of First National Bank Botswana.

According to Basiami, the show’s popularity has grown over the years noting that the air show, which will be on May 26, promises to live up to great expectation.

“We have witnessed this show’s popularity grow throughout the years and it is a project that is very close to us, not only because of the fun and excitement that it brings to attendees, but also because this is part of our (way of) giving back to society. Some of the proceeds of the event will be donated to various charities,” she said.

Further Basiami said the air show offers an unique opportunity to cross promote and network with business personnel adding that Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) have the opportunity to sell their products and services at the air show stalls as well. 

“The more the public is exposed to these endeavours the quicker they realise opportunities that exist in the industry,” she said.

“For the youth we hope that this will continue to stimulate their interest in aviation and some will even consider aviation is a critical career option.”

With the likes of Boeing Stearman, Raptors RV, Team X-treme, Albatross Jet and Little Annie, the day would be filled with heart stopping moments. 

Revellers can also look forward to seeing Botswana’s Model Aircraft and the Skydive parachute drop team in action amongst other exhilarating performances. Experienced pilots will take to the skies to mesmerise attendees with their jaw-dropping stunts.

The event which would be held at Matsieng Aerodrome, Rasesa caters for the whole family with tickets costing P120 for adults, P60 for children and free for children under five years (accompanied by an adult).
