Saverite Supermarket Opened In Thamaga

The store owner, Mothusi Seloko thanked people who braved the chilly morning to attend the opening. Amongst the speakers at the event was motor magnate Satar Dada.

“It’s a great honour to be here today to witness the grand opening of the first Saverite Supermarket in Thamaga and the 42th store countrywide,” Dada said. He further applauded Seloko for his efforts in empowering the youth to engage in business.

Kgosi Moarabi Kgabongwe was just as grateful. “I am very thankful because this shop will create job opportunities for the youth in our village,” he said.

He added that crime was a concern in the village of which he says discourages investors to introduce developments in Thamaga. He commended Seloko for establishing businesses that create new job opportunities for the youth and described him as economic wise.

Meanwhile, Seloko presented a gift to his business mentor, Satar Dada, which he said was the first copy of his book that he wrote with the late former president of Botswana Ketumile Masire. “Sadly, he passed on before we could officially launch the book,” he highlighted.

Most of the buyers appreciated that the store was spacious and that there was a range of available products to choose from. There were different stalls set outside the store to present and market a variety of brands that were available in the store. The event was graced by polka dancers who gave an enticing performance that left the spectators asking for more.

Amongst the guests were the shopping complex owner, Mmatli Rasina and councillor Palelo Motaosane who in his speech stressed the importance of motivating youth to startup businesses.

“Youth should be advised to engage in businesses and to get motivation and mentorship from established entrepreneurs,” he said.
