Steez's Roadside Car Scrap Evokes Sad Memories

The media personality and rapper, Mpho Vincent Tiro who was famously known as Steez died in a car accident 15km away from Rakops, the village of the new Vice President, Slumber Tsogwane, when he was on his way from Maun. Steez’s car caught fire and burnt after a tourist vehicle allegedly hit it.
Reached for a comment, Inspector Moffat Seakonyane, the station traffic officer at Rakops police station stated that it was not police’s responsibility to remove the car wreckage from the roadside. “After the tragedy we inspected the car and handed the car to his family members.
“We understand that the car scrap is an eyesore to his fans, but there is nothing we can do, because unlike his family we do not have the powers to take that scrap away,” Seakonyane said.
Seakonyane declared that investigations into the matter were complete . He however, could not reveal the findings, stating to have sent the report to the Attorney General’s Chambers for further accessment. Seakonyane said since the deceased’s car burnt to ashes, his family might have decided to leave the scrap at the scene. The former Btv presenter was coming from Maun after attending the annual Mascom Derby when he met his fate.
Then it was alleged that Steez’s car had mechanical problems, which he had to fix before making the trip back to Gaborone but unfortunately on his way back his car caught fire and burnt after it was hit by another vehicle. Steez, who was also known as Mochine O Ichenchang, was a seasoned rapper, radio and television presenter who was born and raised in Mahalapye.
He rose to fame after he was chosen as a presenter for Btv’s Meribo magazine show in 2003. He was a pioneer radio presenter for Duma FM radio station.
