TAFIC’s return is expected to quench the overwhelming football thirst of Francistown fans, who have been without Premier League football.

Club spokesperson, Warrant Kolola said they have been working around the clock in the past two weeks preparing for the ultimate encounter and all wheels are running.

“The mood is high in all fronts.  The squad is exciting, supporters are well geared and in fact our replicas are sold out this week and the supplier is struggling to meet demand,” he said.

“The entire team is more than ready to bring back premiership to the city, we can’t wait for Saturday. We are definitely popping champagne in Sowa this weekend.”

Club coach, Elias Chinyemba who was fired unceremoniously by Flamingoes last season shared similar sentiments, he said they are injury-free. “We want to wrap the league with nothing but a win. It’s no secret we will attack from the get go.

“The management has worked overtime to ensure the players are well motivated. We are in good shape all round and we are confident we will be in the Premiership come Saturday evening.”

The supporters are singing a similar tune; a member of the club’s supporters committee, Jonas Buyani said the Reds will be relocating en mass to the small soda ash mining town.

“The turn up of supporters at the training ground speaks volumes and we have kept our promise to rally behind the team the entire season. “This is a game where we will be celebrating our return to the Premiership, it’s Operation Gwilila (return) and there is no doubt Sowa will be bleeding Matjimenyenga red come weekend,” Buyani said.

Meanwhile, Flamingoes who have fallen from the chase after their past loss against second placed Motlakase, who are quietly lying in wait.  It remains to be seen if they will be able to weather the storm and spoil the Matjimenyenga party.

Flamingoes coach, Enos Mmesi speaks humbly about their preparations. He stressed, however, that they respect football and they will not be seen to give away the game easily.

“We are a team with integrity and we will not be seen to donate points,” he said. “This is a game we also want to win. We know our opponents very well and it helps that we will play under no pressure.  I am positive the players will be able to express themselves and give our supporters a win.” In Palapye, Motlakase who are two points behind leaders TAFIC, welcome gallant GNT. Chouka will have a great interest in a TAFIC slip so they can steal the automatic promotion spot at the last minute.

However GNT, which are engulfed in a battle to avoid the chop, will be a hard nut to crack, the Francistowners have not lost in the past five games. In another must win encounter Morupule Wanderers welcome Chobe United. David Bright and his men need nothing but a win at home otherwise they relegate. ECCO City Greens will also look to save their skin against Real Movers.

In other games fourth placed BR Highlanders take on relegated TASC, and the relegated duo of Maun Tigers and Satmos will pay homage to First Division in the last fixture in Selebi-Phikwe before they bow out.
