Magistrate orders medical check-up for bailed Finance ministry employee

Appearing before Magistrate Ntombizodwa Ncube, Ditso Rabasha 32, who is facing a single count of office breaking and theft appeared to be in shock, something that might have contributed to the magistrate granting him bail on his arraignment.

Mmegi Online has learnt that Rabasha threatened to commit suicide in prison if he was further remanded in custody. On his arrest the police retrieved three cheque leaves, but it is alleged that Rabasha informed the police to have destroyed the missing 42 cheque leaves.

Rabasha is alleged to have broken into finance ministry’s offices on April 23, 2018, and stole the cheque leaves. Two weeks later the police made a breakthrough after a tip off and managed to arrest him.
