Mr Gaborone Gives Back To The Community

He is the 2017-2018 Mr Gaborone and third prince at Mr Africa International, making him one of the most sought-after young talents in the fashion industry at the moment. Despite reaching such great heights, the young model has decided to use his position to give back to the community in the best way he possibly could.
Molatedi, together with Raymond Geoffrey, a well-known photographer and Steven Bongani Sinombe, a well-known hairdresser, have embarked on a journey to give children a chance to realise their own modelling dreams. In collaboration with Africa Pageantry Networks Botswana, the trio will be hosting a first time ever Mr and Miss Teen Africa Botswana. The pageant will be focused on recruiting teenagers (13 to 19 years) to compete for the title. Winners will walk away with prizes yet to be announced, but will also get a chance to represent the country at the Mr and Miss Teen Africa International. “The aim is to mentor these children, and help build them into public figures that will become a symbol of inspiration to their age-mates,” Molatedi said. He went on to state that recruits would be trained through bootcamps enabling them to acquire useful life skills. No special entry requirements are needed.
“We want to give every teenager a chance and so we are not limiting anyone by making demands that others may not be able to meet and in turn frustrate their dreams,” Molatedi mentioned.
A series of separate auditions will be carried out, the first being Gaborone male auditions to be held on July 28, 2018 at the University of Botswana, Block 139. The female auditions will be conducted in August and dates and the location are yet to be announced. More auditions will be held across the country in areas such as Kopong, Lobatse and Francistown. The audition fee is P50.
