With people having had enough of the dust from the day’s activities, it was time to enjoy live performances. It was Dedco from Gantsi who got the ball rolling for the revellers, who came from far to enjoy what Khawa Dune challenge and cultural festival had to offer.

After ushering his latest and old tunes Dedco paved way for other artists who were eager to please the entertainment-craved Khawa residents. Perion, who is currently trending with his lejebejebe song took to the stage and although people were not as reactive as they should have been Perion showed that he may not be a one-hit wonder.

Another artist of perhaps similar capabilities, Han C, was next and he needed no introduction.  The singer and songwriter dished out his latest offering, Mafurafura in which Berry Bone features him.  The sedilaka hitmaker who released his first album in December sang the crowd’s favourite hit seileng and he left the stage a happy man because the crowd loved his performance.

It was LaTimmy who took the moment he stepped onto the stage with a skeleton mask.  Mfana wa Kasane as he calls himself was facing the same crowd, but in a different environment. He made his usual trademark skills display on the deck and some sections of the crowd were excited to see the man they watched on Btv’s Flavadome now performing live in Khawa.

While he managed to perform previous hits like refilwe it was his song o leb#*e*e, which excited the crowd.  The song, which is performed in music festivals only addresses people who partake in promiscuity and infidelity.

He would pause the song and give scenarios and description of the kind of people he was talking about. DJ Gouveia also took the deck as the hours of the event melted away.

While the Dune challenge and the polka festival mostly dominate Khawa, the contemporary festival is always one of the events to look out for.
