Alleged fraudster skips bail again

This would be for the second time that the alleged fraudster Dimakatso Nlondiwa, 36, did not appear in court after being granted bail.
He first skipped bail in 2015 but was captured by the police in Maun last year after being on the run from the law.
Nlondiwa, a former secondary school teacher, was supposed to appear before Magistrate Cele Lebakeng on Tuesday but he was nowhere to be seen.
This left prosecutor Mothusi Meshack with no option but to tell the court the accused has not been appearing in court for the past five months.
Meshack informed the court that he would liaise with the head of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to see what they can do to make sure that the alleged miscreant is brought before court for his criminal conduct.
Meshack stated that if the police were not successful in arresting Nlondiwa, he would apply for his cases to be dismissed with liberty to reinstate by the state.
He added that the state is wasting a lot of resources by always appearing in court while Nlondiwa is still on the run from the law.
Last year Nlondiwa was reluctantly granted bail after pleading that he was sick.
He had said then: “I plead with the court to grant me bail because I am finding it hard to access the medication that I am taking whilst in jail”.
Nlondiwa will now lose the P2,000 that he deposited with the court as one of his bail conditions.
He may also not be granted bail after he is re-arrested because he violated one of his bail conditions of appearing in court as and when required to do so.
Before Nlondiwa was granted bail, he had pleaded not guilty to the charges he is facing.
Magistrate Kapeko handled some of the cases while others were presided over by Dumisane Basupi.
