Coach, Oris Boyo Radipotsane has laid the blame squarely on the doorstep of the club management.

Highlanders, who at some stage led the First Division North log, find themselves down in fourth with 34 points and just one game before the end of the season.

Radipotsane said the boys are doing their part, but are pulled down by boardroom squabbles.

“Since the beginning of second round, we have only managed to win one game from eight. Our main problem is with the officials. The boys only trained once for the Morupule (Wanderers) game. We could have won the match because the boys are trying all they can to deliver good results,” Radipotsane said.

Apparently the players had not been training for the whole of last week because of their delayed salary payments, which they only got on Friday, Mmegi Sport learnt.

Radipotsane said problems within the management affected his work and when results are not forthcoming, the coach is blamed.

He said he is already planning to quit the club, as he could not, as national team assistant coach, allow his name to be dragged in the mud.

“Obviously when the team is not doing well, people blame the coach so I cannot watch my name being tarnished though I try hard to bring the results. When we started the league, we were chasing the title, but now, we are no longer in the race.

In fact we have long given up because of the internal squabbles in the club,” Radipotsane said.

He said he feels for the players as they were going along well with him.

He added that even if he leaves the club, he does not know how he will break the news to the players who would be hurt.

He said the boys understand him, which is the reason why they would play along even if they are unhappy.
